LJ are you trying to drive people away from your site?
For those who haven't already heard: Links to about 150 e-commerce sites that users post to their LiveJournals are being redirected through a 3rd party website. These redirected links also open in a new window.
Among other things, this redirection strips any existing affiliate links and inserts a different affiliate link.
Charming behaviour.
I have a Dreamwidth acocunt, I think it's time that it saw some more use.

For all its ever-increasing fuckups, LJ is still the only decent interactive blogging site out there IMTAO. I have no intention of leaving; I'm going to keep my paid account going, too. And I won't read anyone's posts on any other so-called 'social networking' site, because the like of FarceBork is just!plain!evil! and further is having a bad effect on the several of my RL friends who let themselves be sheep-memed into joining it - namely, where they were once interesting bloggers who made frequent lengthy posts, they've now reduced their online lives to shallow soundbites (fontbites?), and I only know about those because other friends tell me 'oh yeah, I saw something about that on ___'s FB account'. Oh well, at least my foolish FarceBorkers and I are having more phone conversations these days :-S

What about the links that weren't suppose dto take people to ebay etc? (I'll read the link shortly, am musing out loud at the moment)
Why don't you like Dreamwidth? Built off lj code, so same sort of site, same design, less fuckups. I use stalkbook but I use it differnetly to LJ - though I have noticed I'm blogging less, you are right. But I want to maintain a blog as well, and lj's attitude is getting increasingly ofensive.

I went for a shufti back when several of you announced you were considering moving there, and found their twee-as mission statement made my nose wrinkle. Also, they didn't offer free image hosting, which for someone (i.e. me) who has no truck with the like of Photobucket or Flickr is a big minus.
Anyhoo, it's nice to communicate with you, even if it's a discussion about why we don't like each other's choice of blogsites :P
